AI assistants answer questions by reading the web. To be part of their answers, your site has to be crawlable, understandable and trustworthy — the same foundations as classic SEO, applied more strictly.

1. Let the crawlers in

Check your robots.txt. Search and AI crawlers such as Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot need permission to read your pages. Many sites block them by accident through a security plug-in or CDN setting.

2. Answer the question in the first sentence

AI systems quote short, self-contained statements. Start each page with a direct answer — who you are, what you do, where — then add detail. Question-style headings and FAQ sections help.

3. Be one consistent entity

Use the same name, description, location and contact details everywhere: website, social profiles, directories. List your alternative names (for example Vimal Kallyat Panoli, VimalKP, Vimal K P) so engines connect them to one person or business.

4. Add structured data

Schema.org JSON-LD tells machines exactly what a page is about: a Person, a ProfessionalService, a Service, an FAQPage, an Article. Link them together with stable @id values.

5. Publish an llms.txt

An llms.txt file at your domain root gives language models a clean summary and a map of your key pages. It is cheap to add and removes guesswork. You can see this site's llms.txt.

6. Make it fast and plain HTML

Content that only appears after heavy JavaScript runs may never be seen. Server-rendered or static HTML is the safest choice for both search engines and AI crawlers.

7. Earn trust signals

Real experience, specific facts, author information, dates and links from reputable sites all raise the chance of being cited. Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools — Bing's index also feeds several AI assistants.
